This booklet, which was published in the Allertonia journal (Vol. 2 No. 2), covers the vegetation of American Samoa. The plant communities present in this archipelago are described in detail, based upon a series of vegetation plots set up on the islands in 1976. The data from these plots, as well as a checklist of the flora of American Samoa with island by island distributions, are included in the appendices. It is aimed at vegetation ecology students and those wanting to learn about the pattern of plant distributions in this eastern part of the Samoan Archipelago.
